Seven Ways to Improve Your Brain Performance

To increase your brain performance, dr. Daniel G. Amen, who wrote a book Making a Good Brain Great Here, gives 7 tips as follows:

1. Improve your water intake
Remember, our brain is compiled to 80% water. Light dehydration can increase the production of stress hormone stres that can destroy our brain.

2. Limit your calorie intake
Research at animal and human shows that diet with limited calorie is good for brain and lengthens our age. Eating a small amount of food can trigger certain mechanism in body to increase the production of nerve growth factors, which has benefit for brain.

3. Consume Omega-3 fatty acid
Fish, cod oil, and DHA, is one of omega-3 fatty acid. Research in the last few years indicates that diet using rich omega-3 fatty acid helps improve emotional balance and healthy mood, probably because DHA is the main component of brain dendrite.

4. Consume Antioxidant
Vitamin E and C is sources of antioxidant. A number of researchs have indicated that consuming antioksidan from fruit and vegetable significantly lessen our cognate ability.

5. Consume protein, good fat, and carbohydrate in well-balanced portion
Try whenever you eat food or cake, you get a well-balanced of protein, carbohydrate, and fat.

6. Listing 24 healthy foods in your daily diet
