Stop using CFC

Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) emissions damage the ozone molecule in the stratosphere but also cause global warming. Destruction of the ozone layer could increase the intensity of UV-B rays in the earth surface. The case of eyes cataracts; skin cancer; the decline in body resistance; the stunted crop; the plankton death; was the negative impact resulting from UV-B rays.

As a country which signed Protocol Montreal about the Ozone Layer Protection, Indonesia obliges to reduce the CFC use. So since January 1, 2008, CFC import was stopped.

The Indonesian government through Industry Minister's Regulation no. 33/M-IND/PER/4/2007 declared CFC banning to be used at indoors and vehicle air conditioning products, household refrigerators, and Halon for fire extinguisher production.

Domestic stock of CFC imported before January 1, 2008 was permitted to be used only in the foam production, freezers, and aerosol up to June 30, 2008.

Counted from July 1 2008, domestic stock of CFC and its recycling results could be only used for the maintenance activities.

Products which already have not use CFC material and / or Halon are obliged to use NON CFC or NON HALON & NON CFC logos.
